Obituary

Mrs. Helen Lentz Knapp age 71, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Bethany Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Albemarle.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 pm Sunday, June 9 at Wilkinson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held in the chapel at 3 pm with Rev. Thant McManus officiating. Burial will follow at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.

Mrs. Knapp was born January 30, 1948 in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late Charles Gilbert Lentz, Jr. and Louise Long Lentz. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and Joe Lentz.

Helen was a wonderful caregiver to everybody. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, anybody could have. She put the Lord first in her life, others second, and then herself. Helen loved talking on the phone, keeping close ties with her friends and family. She was a “shop till you drop” kind of gal also. Those that knew and loved her, will miss her dearly.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Ronnie L. Knapp of Concord; daughter, Kristen Conover and husband, Ron of Albemarle; son, Ben Jenkins and wife, Melissa of Norwood; grandchildren, Charity, Serenity, Darrell, CJ, Matthew, Tracy, Nicole, Joey, Shelby, Jessica, Brad and Joey; several great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Page of Mt. Pleasant; aunts, Lois Hill of Salisbury and Ruth Revelle of Mt. Pleasant; numerous nieces, nephews, special cousins, special friends and other loving relatives.

A special thank you goes to Hospice of Stanly and the Bethany Woods caregivers for all their love and support given to Helen and her family these last few years.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly and the Uwharrie, 960 N. 1st Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.

Uncle Ronnie and family, So sorry to hear of Helen's passing. Having just experienced the loss of my wife, Becky, I can sympathize with you on a much more personal level. If it were not for the hope we have as Christians in the Lord Jesus Christ and our future heavenly home, we could not endure the pain of losing a precious loved one. BUT we do have HOPE and the support of fellow believers. Your are in my thoughts and prayers. May God give you a special measure of His amazing grace at this time. Your nephew, Jim Evilsizor
